Dirk is het tweede kind van Leendert van der Quast en Burgje van Stavel. Hij is in 1813 door invallende Fransen vermoord (De ramp van Woerden). Zijn vrouw was op dat moment zwanger (zie het boek 'Woerden slagtmaand 1813'), het kind heeft kennelijk kort geleefd want het komt niet voor in de boedelscheiding van Leendert en Burgje.
