Heeft academie gedaan te St-Niklaas, ging tevoet vanuit Elversele naar
school. In Januari 1882 ging hij naar Antwerpen. leerde zijn vrouw op het
kasteel van Temse kennen hij was daar aan het schilderen en zij was toen
meid. Hij stierf door een loodvergiftiging, maakte in die tijd zijn verf zelf
met lood. Werd vader D'haen genoemd.
