    Hij is eerst papiermaker, later wordt hij landbouwer op "den Kluytenberg" te Broekland. Hij en zijn vrouw kopen 28-1-1736 vijfvierendelen hooiland in Zuidbroek. Zij kopen 10-4-1741 van Gerrit Jans Huiskamp en diens zonen, het vierde part van "den Clijnen Klinckenbergh", idem op 6-6-1746 van Evert Jacobs, weduwe van Evert Jansen Buytenhuys, de helft van "den Clijnen Klinckenbergh".
    Op 16-12-1749 wordt er beslag gelegd op "de Klinckenbergh"door J.H.Roschet. Deze had 550 gulden geleend aan Hendriks broer Jan Peters Buijtenhuijs, waarvoor Hendrik borg stond.
    Hij is in 1748/1749 zetter voor de grondbelasting in Broekland. Zowel op 15-8-1758 als 19-1-1761 koopt Hendrik van resp. Jan Dries en echtgenote Evertje Hendriks Buijtenhuijs en Willem Tonis en echtgenote Willemke Rutgers (tweemaal) een veertiende part van de "Grote Clinckenberg", voor (tweemaal) 220 gulden.
