    Ze had er zelf geen weet van, maar in november 1967 veroverde de toen
    driejarige Corrina Konijnenburg de harten van televisiekijkend Nederland.
    Zittend op schoot bij caberatier Tom Manders - in zijn rol van Dorus - zong
    de blonde peuter Poessie mauw, poessie mauw. Minutenlang, onverstoorbaar en
    met lange uithalen. Corrina van Ginkel-Konijnenburg, getrouwd en moeder van
    twee kinderen, is woensdag in haar woonplaats Pernis op 37-jarige leeftijd
    na een langdurige ziekte overleden. Ze wordt maandag gecremeerd in
    Rotterdam.

KONIJNENBURG, Ingetje Cornelia Hendrika Johanna (geb. Pernis, 10-11-1964 – gest. Pernis 31-7-2002), bekend van ‘poessie mauw’ op schoot bij cabaretier Dorus, later danseres. Dochter van Joop Konijnenburg (geb. 1942), vrachtwagenchauffeur, enRiek van Engelenburg (geb. 1944). In 1992 trouwde Corrina Konijnenburg in Geervliet met Robert Paulus van Ginkel (geb. 1959), gemeenteambtenaar. Uit dit huwelijk werden 2 dochters geboren.
Corrina Konijnenburg werd geboren als de oudste van drie meisjes en groeide op aan de Pastoriedijk in Pernis. Haar grootmoeder nam Corrina in oktober 1967 mee naar de kindervoorstelling in het Rotterdamse theater van Tom Manders, alias Dorus. Ze was toen twee jaar. Spontaan stapte de kleine Corrina het toneel op en nam plaats op de knie van Dorus, waar zij het liedje ‘Poesje Mauw’ mocht zingen. Improviserend begeleid door pianist Hugh den Ouden zong zij minutenlang onbedoeld hilarisch over haar eigen kat, Pipo, die naar huis moet komen. De door de VARA gemaakte televisieopnamen van Bij Dorus op Schoot vertederde de Nederlandse televisiekijker: Corrina was op slag beroemd.

Toen er een jaar later een registratie van Corrina’s optreden bij Dorus op grammofoonplaat verscheen, vonden derden dat de familie aanspraak zou moeten kunnen maken op royalty’s. Nog datzelfde jaar werd ze uitgeroepen tot ‘tv-ster van het jaar’. Omdat het Nieuwsblad van het Noorden haar volledige huisadres in de krant plaatste, kreeg de driejarige Corrina stapels fanmail: wildvreemden stuurden haar cadeautjes en honderden ansichtkaarten van poezen. Corrina zelf was zich nauwelijks bewust vanhaar tv-roem. Wel vond ze het vervelend dat ze werd nageroepen en geplaagd met ‘Poessie Mauw’.

Na de basisschool ging Corrina Konijnenburg naar een school voor lager economisch onderwijs in Hoogvliet, waar ze in 1981 haar diploma haalde. Ze ging werken bij een speelgoedgroothandel in Ridderkerk en later bij staalbouwbedrijf Birkhoff in Pernis. Omdat dansen haar grote hobby was, volgde ze in haar vrije tijd een opleiding tot showballetdanseres. In 1983 haalde ze het dansdiploma aan de prestigieuze Britse Royal Academy of Dancing en in 1986 begon haar danscarrière. Van 1987 tot 1991 volgde ze de vierjarige opleiding aan de Academie voor Dans en Jazz in Tilburg, en intussen trad ze met een vriendinnenclub op als het dans- en showballet ‘Fata Morgana’. Tevens gaf zij damesgymnastiek aan een vaste club huisvrouwen in haar woonplaatsPernis.

Met het Hollands Showballet trad Corrina Konijnenburg eind jaren tachtig op in het Amsterdamse Lido. Ook danste ze bij modeshows, het gezelschap van Penny de Jager en optredens van beroemdheden als Lee Towers en Robert Long. In 1992 trouwde ze met Robert van Ginkel, met wie ze twee dochters kreeg: Shannon (1993) en Annisa (1996). Eind 1997 werd bij Corrina baarmoederhalskanker geconstateerd. Ze onderging een reeks ingrijpende medische behandelingen, waaronder acht operaties, maar niets mochtbaten. Omringd door haar familie en vrienden overleed Corrina Konijnenburg op 31 juli 2002 – ze was 37 jaar oud. Op 5 augustus werd ze gecremeerd, en haar urn is bijgezet op de begraafplaats van Pernis. Haar weduwnaar onderhoudt een website ter nagedachtenis van Corrina Konijnenburg, die als ontwapenende peuter de harten van het Nederlandse televisiepubliek stal.
