Biography

Hendrikje Tuinman was born July 14, 1840 in Doornspijk (Elburg) Gelderland, Netherlands, daughter of Aart Tuinman and Beertje van de Beek. She married Beert Vande Streek, March 7, 1863 in Oldebroek, Netherlands. After Beert's death, Hendrikje (Tuinman) Vande Streek immigrated to North America with her son Aart and his family; and her youngest son, Hendrik in 1903. Hendrikje is buried in Alto Cemetery, Alto, Fond Du Lac Co. Wisconsin.

Mrs. J. Vande Streek of Alto, aged 76 years, died last week, the funeral being held Saturday from the Reformed church, Rev. J. Klerekoper, the Presbyterian pastor officiating. She is survived by three sons and one daughter, J.H., A. and Henry and Mrs. S. Billie. (Source: Find A Grave)
