Edmondes is geboren in Belgie en kwam uit een gezin van 9 kinderen, waarvan hij de oudste was en 1 is er vroegtijdig overleden.
Zijn ouders waren:
Dingemanus Julianus geb 13 Feb 1878 te Hoge en Lage Zwaluwe. Overleden op 29 juli 1957 te Schiedam. Hij was getrouwd met Maria Louisa Dijkers. Geboren op 13 feb 1881 te Hemiksen en overleden op 8 mrt 1955 te Vlaardingen.

Daarna is het gezin naar Vlaardingen verhuisd en ze woonde aan de Binnensingel. Hij trouwde op 27 mei 1925 met Maria Odijk geb 2 april 1902 te Vlaardingen. Zij kregen 4 kinderen.

Het gezin woonde op de Hoogstraat 39 te Vlaardingen, tegenover de Johannes den Doperkerk, waar Ed koster was. Toen de oorlog een jaar was uitgebroken overleed Maria Odijk op 22 maart 1941 op 39 jarige leeftijd. Ed bleef alleen met de kinderen over en kon dat niet bolwerken omdat hij overdag op z'n werk zat. Hij kreeg hulp in de huishouding van Agnes Everdina Theodora maria Greven geboren 23 april 1917 te Duiven. Tussen 1941 en 1943 zullen ze getrouwd zijn en hier kwamen 5 kinderen uit voort.

2- Gerardus Adrianus, geb 3 mei 1944 te Vlaardingen
3- Edmondes Dingemanus Aloysius.geb 3 mei 1944 te Vlaardingen
4- Franciscus Aloyisius, geb 20 sep 1946 te Vlaardingen
5- Maria Bernadette.geb 10 sep 1958 te Vlaardingen
Het huisje aan de Hoogstaat werd te klein en te vochtig en ze verhuisde naar de Aalscholverlaan te Vlaardingen. Ed werd koster in de Pax Christikerk op de kraanvogellaan en hij was ook zeer betrokken bij de RKWIK voetbalclub als verzorger. Hij werkte als elektricien bij Van Eesteren. Na zijn pensioen kreeg hij op 73 jarige leeftijd leverkanker en overleed op 15 maart 1977 in het Holy Ziekenhuis te Vlaardingen.
