Notes about Wilhelmina Maria "Mientje" de Bont

Wilhelmina Maria ( Mientje) is geboren in Den Haag. In welke straat dat is geweest moet nog onderzocht worden. Mientje was de oudste van 9 kinderen. Haar vader was Petrus Johannes de Bont ( Piet ) geboren 11 januari 1897 te Dreumel en overleden op 29 maart 1964 te Den Haag. Hij trouwde op 21 november 1904 te Breda met Geertje Saarloos, geboren 9 juli 1881 te Hekelingen en overleden op 19 december 1956 te Voorburg. Piet Komt ook uit een groot gezin, waar vader Lambertus de Bont en Wilhelmina Homoet de scepter zwaaide. Piet had in 1894 een baantje bij de RET op de paardetram als hulpbestuurder. Hij was toen 15 jaar oud. Hij heeft het daar geschopt tot bestuurder en in 1898 moest hij in militaire dienst.Toen hij even in de 20 was en uit militaire dienst kwam, besloot hij te gaan werken en wonen in Den Haag, omdat zijn hele familie daar zat.

Hij ging in de bouw werken en werd Stijgerbouwer, Opperman, Timmerman en Metselaar. Opperman is iemand die zich de hele dag een bult mag sjouwen en spullen aan moet voeren en voorbereiden. Hij leerde Geertje Saarloos kennen en zij was een dochter van Jan Saarloos en Marija Bakker. Zij woonden in Hekelingen. Geertje was in dienst bij een predikantenfamilie in breda en daar zijn ze ook getrouwd. Waar ze precies hebben gewoond is nog onbekend, maar voor 1931 woonde het gezin in de Musschenbroekstraat 76 en daarna zijn ze verhuist naar de van Heurnestraat 12 te Voorburg en ze zijn overleden op de Loolaan 91 te Voorburg. In de oorlog zijn ze nog een tijdje bij hun dochter Mientje in geweest, omdat ze niets meer te eten hadden. Ze zijn toen lopend van Den Haag naar Vlaardingen gegaan. Wat ik me nog heel goed kan herinneren van hem is die vieze pruimtabak. Dan moest ik bij hem komen en dan zei hij"wil je een snoepie?" Ja Opa...lekker. dan zei hij"oogies dicht en handje op"Dat deed je dan braaf en gelijk werd er zo'n vieze natte kledderpruim in je handen gedrukt, waarbij het sap en ellende door je vingers heen sijpelde. Toen Geertje in 1956 overleed, bleef Piet alleen achter en dochter Maria nam de zorg op zich om vader te onderhouden en verzorgen tot zijn dood in 1964 toe.
Het gezin zag er als volgt uit:

1- Wilhelmina Maria de Bont, geboren 31 augustus 1905, overleden 3 juni 1987 en gehuwd met Nicolaas van der Ent
2- Jan Lambertus de Bont, geboren 23 maart 1908. en gehuwd met Nettie Limburg.
3- Maria de Bont, geboren 16 oktober 1909 en overleden 14 juli 1910.
4- Maria de Bont, geboren 9 maart 1911 en overleden 2 februari 1912.
5- Maria de Bont, geboren 26 november 1912, overleden 3 november 1985 en gehuwd met Jan Teeuwe.
6- Petrus Johannes de Bont, geboren 5 maart 1914 en gehuwd met Maria de Wilde.
7- Geertje de Bont, geboren 27 augustus 1918, overleden 18 mei 2006 en gehuwd met Lambertus Strik na zijn overlijden levensgezel van Willem van Vechten.
8- Hendrik de Bont, geboren 10 mei 1917, overleden november 1944 ( gefusileerd)
9- Lambertus de Bont, geboren 24 maart 1921 en overleden 31 oktober 1941 ( TBC )

Mientje heeft in ieder geval de lagere school doorlopen en is later gaan werken als dienstbode. Toen leerde ze Nicolaas van der Ent kennen en gingen trouwen. Wat er verder is gebeurd zie opmerkingen Nicolaas van der Ent. Toen ze in de Baarnhoeve woonde werd ze ziek en ging naar het Zonnehuis, waar ze op 6 juni 1987 overleed.
