    Johannes Arnold M. van Gruijthuijsen was de zoon van Johannes C. van Gruijthuijsen en Anna C. Belgers. Hij was ondergedoken bij zijn zus Nolda en zwager Oswald Stapper boven hun slagerij en leerde daar het slagersvak. De slagerij met woonhuis lag aan de Zeigelbaan. Tijdens het bombardement bevond hij zich op de binnenplaats achter de slagerij en is daar omgekomen. Zijn lichaam werd pas na weken puinruimen teruggevonden. Arnold was verloofd met Gonny van Cromvoirt die al een zwaar verlies had geleden. Haar vader was door het vallen van de Stevenstoren klem komen te zitten en levend verbrand in de Stikke Hezelstraat.
