    LifeSketch: Henry George Herbert, 2nd Earl of Carnarvon was born on 3 June 1772 at Hill Street, London, EnglandG.2 He was the son of Henry Herbert, 1st Earl of Carnarvon and Lady Elizabeth Alicia Maria Wyndham.3 He was baptised on 22 June 1772 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.2 He married Elizabeth Kitty Acland, daughter of Colonel John Dyke Acland and Lady Christian Henrietta Caroline Fox-Strangways, on 26 April 1796 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, EnglandG.4 He died on 16 April 1833 at age 60 at Grosvenor Square, London, EnglandG.4 He was buried at Burghclere, Hampshire, EnglandG.4 His will was proven (by probate) in July 1833.4 He was educated between 1782 and 1789 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.5 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Whig) for Cricklade between 1794 and 1811.6 He was styled as Lord Porchester between 1794 and 1811.2 He held the office of High Steward of Newbury.2 He succeeded as the 2nd Earl of The Town and County of Carnarvon [G.B., 1793] in June 1811.6 He succeeded as the 2nd Baron Porchester of Highclere, co.
