Notes about Aafje van Beveren

Aafje van Beveren was actief in de NSB, voor en tijdens WO II. Zij was ook betrokken bij de verkoop van het blad van de NSB: Volk en Vaderland. Omdat de Duitse bezetter scherp oplette kon de vrije verkoop van het blad plaats vinden, maar ondanks dat probeerden sommigen de verkoop te voorkomen door een grote vechtpartij uit te lokken. In 1942 was Aafje betrokken bij zo'n vechtpartij.
Zij had zo'n hardgrondige hekel aan Joden, dat zij in staat bleek de schoonfamilie van haar zoon Albert, welke joden waren, te verraden aan de Moffen. waarop deze hele familie werd uitgemoord in Auswitsch. Zelfs na de oorlog stak zij haar haat niet onder stoelen of banken, zelfs niet toen haar Nederlanderschap werd afgepakt. Dat kreeg ze overigens pas terug in 1956.
Bij de nalatenschap van zus Bregtje is een deel toegewezen aan de familie Edelenbos.: B. Edelenbos in Amsterdam en J. Röge-Edelenbos in Diemen. Bovendien is het grootste deel toegewezen aan de heer A. Edelenbos in Baltimore (USA).
