Garritje Harmsen is dus een dochter van de zus van vader Arent. Een zoeksleutel voor verder familie onderzoek. En vermoedelijk is deze Harmen werkzaam en woonachtig geweest op de boerderij Vrendenburgh en had de familie nog niet echt een familienaam. Moeilijk wordt het omdat de moeder van Garritje niet genoemd wordt in het archief.

Ook besliste deze landdagsrecessen over de z.g. ‘gemengde huwelijken. In de 17e eeuw was het zeker niet volautomatisch toegestaan dat een lid van de R.K. kerk kon trouwen met een niet-kerkelijke. Een verzoek daartoe werd meestal afgewezen. Deze landdagsrecessen waren de voorlopers van de Staten. De provincie Gelderland, toen Hertogdom Gelre en Zutphen, waren in de 16e eeuw nog zelfstandig. De Landdagsrecessen waren dus het hoogste gezagsorgaan, op het gezag van de Hertog na. Maar deze vroeg vaak advies aan dit college.
