(Bev.reg: 22-5-1877 uit Deinum. In de Schrans te Leeuwarden begonnen heel klein (half varken of zo) met een slagerij. Later aan de andere kant van de Schrans naast het Gemeentehuis van Leeuwarderadeel had hij een hele beste slagerij. Mocht in Leeuwarderadeel zelf slachten, wat in Leeuwarden inmiddels verboden was. Hij was in staat 2 zoons elders in de stad aan een slagerij te helpen en zijn eigen zaak aan een zoon over te doen. Oudste zoon was veekoopman. Dochters waren niet zo erg in tel. Zo was dat in die tijd. Jongste dochter Anna Geertruida heeft ouders tot hun dood verzorgd. Ook dat was in dien tijd een heel gewone zaak. Laatste adres van dit gezin was Eebuurt 2 te Leeuwarden.
