Notes about Godard van Reede van Amerongen

REEDE (Godard van), heer van Amerongen en Ginkel, zoon van Frederik van Reede, heer van Amerongen, van 1564-1594 (toen hij afstand deed) kanunnik in het kapittel ten Dom te Utrecht, en van Cornelia van Oostrum. Hij werd, even als zijn vader, beschreven in de ridderschap van Utrecht en in 1641 afgevaardigde in het leger der Algemeene Staten. Terwijl hij dezen last bekleedde, werd hij ziek, en naar Bergen-op-Zoom vervoerd, waar hij in October van dat jaar, in den ouderdom van bijna 49 jaren overleed. Hij werd gelijk ook zijne echtgenoot Anna van den Boetselaar van Tautenburg, te Amerongen begraven. Zijn zoon Frederik Adolf van Reede tot Amerongen was kanunnik van den Dom te Utrecht en Kornet. Zijne dochter Kornelia Elisabeth van Reede tot Amerongen, huwde in 1633 Philibert van Tuil van Serooskerken, beschreven in de ridderschap van Utrecht. Beide liggen onder een prachtig grafgesteente in de kerk te Amerongen begraven.
