Notes about Hendrik Docter

Hendrik Docter was bierbrouwer en herbergier. De herberg stond op de hoek Dorpstraat/Bonenbugerlaan. Hij werkte met 3 knechten en maakte het zogenaamde dikke bier dat in de 18e eeuw tot de noodzakelijke voedingsmiddelen behoorde. Daar kwam bij dat drinken van bier gezonder was dan het drinken van water omdat de kwaliteit van het water over het algemeen slecht was. Veel dorpen en steden hadden in die tijd hun eigen brouwerij. De smaak van het bier verscchilde van plaats tot plaats. Ook dat had te maken met de waterkwaliteit.
Hendrik docter moet een goed renderende herberg en brouwerij zijn geweest. Dat bleek wel in 1749, toen hij in verband met een reorganisatie van het belastingstelsel aangemerkt werd als ,, capitalist boven de 4000 gulden"Hij had dus meer dan 4000 gulden aan roerend en onroerende goederen en werd daarom voor dubbel ,,hoofdgeld"aangeslagen. hij was 1 van de zeven inwoners in het gehele dorp Heerde als zodanig omschreven werden.

Hendrik Docter en Margareta van Apeldoorn, Jan van Emst en Catharina van Apeldoorn, Gerrit van Apeldoorn verkopen op 27-07-1760 aan Jan Docter en Hendrikje van Emst een huis en hof in Heerder dorp (vroeger van Jan Wijers Brummelkamp en vrouw).
Idem verkopen op 27-07-1760 aan Elbert Beekman saailand in Assendorper Enk
Henrie Docter verklaart op 24-07-1764 namens zichzelf en als lasthebber van de erfgenamen van Derk Teunis Coopman in 1757 verkocht te hebben aan de rentenier Berend van Marle en Johanna van Apeldoorn saailand aan de Assendorper weg
