Notes about Jacob Uittenbogaard

Jacob (1887) trouwde 1910 en ging ook in hetzelfde jaar zelfstandig boeren; terwijl werd Jac dat op het nieuw gebouwde Kweeklust (foto I); hij had daar een wat kleiner stuk grond (20 ha) en legde zich daarom in het bijzonder toe op tuinbouw met ' teelt van groente en bloembollen. Het was evenwel een gemengd bedrijf, deed ook aan landbouw (graan) en had tevens twintig koeien. Jacob was niet alleen aan het boeren, hij nam ook deel aan het politieke leven in Oegstgeest en had zitting in de gemeenteraad voor de Christelijke Historische Unie (CHU). Hij is op een foto (nummer 36) uit 1929 te zien in het Ie boekje "Oegstgeest in oude ansichten" van mr. B.C. van Krieken. Daarnaast was hij actief in de middenstand in Oegstgeest. Was het oorspronkelijke Kweeklust een typische bakstenen bollenduinstreek boerderij (zie foto I), later werden de gevelsgewit en er kwam een gepuntigde kap op.
