    CLAAS SIJMENSZ. kocht van 1681 tot 1683 verschillende stukjes land. Tot 1687 woonde hij in de "Vlaamsche Tent", waar ook zijn broeder Jan Sijmensz. "Tent" (ook "Tentman") woonde. Welk huis dit was, is niet meer na te gaan. Het is niet "de Tent" die wij nu nog kennen, het gebouw aan de Oosterdijk (gemeente Enkhuizen), waar de "dijkheren" vergaderden. Waarschijnlijk was de Vlaamse Tent een soort polderkeet, waar de polderjongens onderdak gehad hadden na de grote watervloed van November 1675, toen heel Drechterland onder water lag .... Op 26 Maart 1687 verkocht Claas Sijmensz. de Vlaamse Tent. (zie acte).
    Op 3 Maart daarvóór kocht hij de Vogelkooy, die in 1671 gesticht was. (zie beide acten).
    Claas Sijmensz. stierf vrij jong: hij kan 46 of 47 jaar geweest zijn. In de impost op het begraven van Grootebroek lezen we: "Februaryus den 25en dito Ontfangen van Pieter Claasz. Cooyman voor 't lijk van sijn vader CIaas Cooyman, woonachtich aan de Vogelekooy onder Bovenkarspel 3 gld.". Zijn zonen en schoonzoon (Jan Ydesz.) zetten het kooikersbedrijf voort .... Sijmen is dan 13 jaar en in de kooi niet zo nodig, bij wordt bakkersknecht in het bakkerijtje in de Bakkershoek.
