Wim ging in 1944 naar het Klein-Seminary van de congregatie Mill Hill in Tilburg en later in Haelen. In 1950 ging hij naar het Missiehuis Seminary in Roosendaal, waarna hij op 6 mei 1955 toetrad tot de orde van Mill-Hill. Op 8 juli 1956 werd hij priester gewijd.
Hij ging als missionaris naar Congo, maar werd teruggeroepen toen de onafhankelijkheidsstrijd aldaar te gevaarlijk werd. In 1965 ging hij als missionaris naar de Maori's in New Zealand. In 1970 werd hij teruggeroepen naar Nederland en was aalmoezenier bij het Nederlandse leger tot 1972. Verhalen doen de ronde dat hij de zwaarste tanks kon berijden. Daarna is hij weer naar New-Zealand gegaan en werkte daar als missionaris tot zijn pensionering in 2009. In 1988 ontving hij een Koninklijke onderscheiding.
