Overigens was Heinz Trox in Duitsland eigenaar van Trox GmbH, een van de voornaamste bedrijven in de wereld voor klimaattechniek. Hij was onderscheiden met de hoogste onderscheiding in Duitsland : Het Bundesverdienstkreuz!

Von 1954 bis 1958 studierte er Maschinenbau und Betriebswirtschaft in München und den USA. Dort begann er auch seine berufliche Laufbahn bei einem führenden US-Unternehmen der Klima- und Lüftungsbranche. Auf Wunsch des Vaters kehrte er im Jahr 1959 nach Deutschland zurück, um gemeinsam mit seinem Bruder Klaus in das väterliche Unternehmen einzutreten. Heinz Trox übernahm die Leitung und den Aufbau des Auslandsgeschäftes. Schon bald nach seinem Eintritt gründete er die ersten Tochtergesellschaften im europäischen Ausland.
