In het boekje "De Familie Trip" (Groningen 1 October 1883) wordt gesteld dat hij voor Februari 1594 reeds gehuwd was met Maria de Geer en gevestigd te Dordrecht.
Dochter Susanna wordt op familielijsten vermeld, zonder nadere gegevens.
Daarnaast worden nog de navolgende kinderen genoemd, welke niet zijn terug te vinden in de doopregisters van Amsterdam en Dordrecht, Judith, Elisabeth, Cornelis, Matthijs, Jan en Pieter. De twee laatsten zouden in Archangel overleden zijn. Allen zouden kinderloos overleden zijn.
