Wij ( broers aantal 9 zussen 3) woonden toen ik geboren werd in 1955 te Middelrode (gemeente Berlicum N.Br.)l . Jhr. Trip kwam op de Pastoor Verlindenstraat 1, in een huis met kruideniers winkel snoep kopen voor de kinderen om uit te delen op school, zelf gaf hij de eigenaresse wat centjes om wat te kopen voor haar eigen kinderen. Hij was een markant figuur, altijd een rond jagershoedje op en aan zijn fiets had hij een dubbele leren tas achter op de pakkendrager. Hij had een bril met dikke glazen op en had altijd z'n hondje bij zich (Schotse Colly??).
Dus wij kenden hem behoorlijk goed.
