Eerst in de Torenstraat later in de Lange Frankenstraat in Rotterdam

Het oorspronkelijke bedrijf, M.F. Tournier & Zn. B.V. is in Januari 1906 opgericht door de gelijknamige Martinus Franciscus Tournier.
In de eerste jaren werkte M.F. Tournier vanuit een bedrijfsruimte aan de Goudse Singel in Rotterdam. Samen met timmerman 'Dick' en een loodgieter voerde Martinus de werkzaamheden uit.
In de periode van 1906 tot en met 1928 is het bedrijf gegroeid in omvang. Een nieuwe bedrijfsruimte aan de Pannekoekstraat en uiteindelijk de Jonker Fransstraat waren hiervan het logische gevolg.

Op 14 mei 1940 werd het bedrijf getroffen door het bombardement in Rotterdam. Het bombardement had verstrekkende gevolgen voor alles dat in de achterliggende 34 jaar was opgebouwd, gereedschappen, voorraden en ook het bedrijfspand moesten het ontgelden. Door de goede reputatie, de trouwe klantenkring, het vakmanschap en een flinke dosis doorzettingsvermogen vormden echter het fundament van de wederopbouw van het bedrijf. Via de toenmalig burgemeester van 's-Hertogenbosch kon Martinus Franciscus Tournier een kleine bedrijfsruimte kopen aan de van der Werfstraat in Rotterdam. Hier kon het bedrijf zich opnieuw vestigen en zich opmaken voor een nieuwe periode.

In de periode 1942 - 1943 is de zoon van Martinus, Joseph Tournier, als loodgieter begonnen in het bedrijf. Joseph werd kort daarna compagnon van zijn vader, dit was tevens de periode waarin hij aan de ambachtsschool de opleiding als gasfitter begon. Door de toenemende hoeveelheid werkzaamheden kwam medio 1955 ook broer Arie Tournier, voor die tijd werkzaam bij een verwarmingsbedrijf in Den Haag, bij het bedrijf. Enkele jaren later begon het gezelschap dat tot die tijd bestond uit Martinus, Joseph, Arie en Dick verder te groeien.
