    Dit was niet altijd lonend, maar toen hij een keer een bijzonder goede vangst had gedaan, wilde hij dit in het hele dorp bekend maken.

    Op Zondagmorgen voor de late kerk schreef hij met krijt op het voorschot: "Als het vissen was een kunst, ik zou het mijn kinderen leren,
