Notes about Franciscus (Frans) Dempenfeld (Dimpenfeld)

Franciscus werkte in de ijzergieterij L.J. Enthoven in Den Haag. Hij stamde af van een familie van ijzergieters. Zijn vader (Johannes Hermanus Timpenfeld) vestigde zich vanuit Neustadt (gem. Neuwied, bij Koblenz) in Deventer waar hij werkte bij de gieterij te Ulft: De olde Hut. Deze is in 1870 afgebroken.


De familielijn Dempenfeld- Dimpengeld-Timpenfeld-Timpelfeld gaat terug tot een zekere Judocus, die in de Borscheider Hutte in Fahrenthal (nu gem. Neuwied) als vormer vermeld is. Waarschijnlijk stamde hij uit Dumpelfeld aan de Ahr in het Eifelgebied, war juist in die tijd door gebrek aan houtskool de ijzer- en kopergieterijen in moeilijkheden waren gekomen.
