Gedoopt op 6 september 1772 als zoon van schipper Berent Faken ten Kaat en Geesje Harms
Schonewille. Geboren en opgegroeid in het Hollandsche Veld. De 23-jarige Fake was aldaar
betrokken bij een incident tijdens de jaarwisseling van 1795 op 1796. Op nieuwjaarsavond
persifleerden hij, zijn broer Harm, neven en vrienden de Franse troepen, en het kwam tot
beschadiging van een woning. De jongemannen werden veroordeeld tot zes jaar zeedienst. Fake werd
verplicht matroos. Als zodanig werd hij nog vermeld in 1798, toen een vrouw en een kind van hem
in het Krakeel woonden. Daarna werd in de bronnen niets meer over hem gevonden. Voor zover
bekend is hij niet terug gekeerd van de vloot. Hij moet tijdens het uitdienen van zijn straf
zijn overleden. Zijn moeder woonde in 1811 in de Poepershoek.
