Ten jare duizend acht honderd zeven en negentig, den dertigsten april ten vier ure namiddag, zijn voor ons Graaf Ferdinand de Marnix, Burgemeester, vervangende door ziekte den heer Désiré Van den Abbeele, schepen gedelegeerden Ambtenaar van den Burgerlijken Stand der gemeente Bornhem, provincie Antwerpen, openbaarlijk ten Gemeentehuize verschenen, ter eene zijde:
Adolphus Verschelden, fabriekwerker, woonachtig in deze gemeente en hier geboren den achtsten december achttien honderd twee en zeventig, minderjarigen zoon van Petrus Franciscus Verschelden, overleden te Bornhem den zevenden September achttien honderd acht en zeventig blijkens de extrakten uit de akten van geboorte en overlijden hierbij gevoegd en van Maria Virginea De paepe, zonder beroep, oud zeven en zestig jaren wonende in deze gemeente, hier tegenwoordig en toestemmende in het huwelijk van haren zoon.
En ter andere zijde:
Catharina Van lent, dagloonster, woonachtig in deze gemeente en hier geboren den derden October achttien honderd twee en zeventig, meerderjarige dochter van Petrus Joannes Van lent, overleden te Bornhem den zes en twintigsten october achttien honderd negen en tachtig blijkens de extrakten uit de akten van geboorte en overlijden hierbij gevoegd en van Lucia Pauwels, zonder beroep, oud acht en zestig jaren wonende in deze gemeente, hier tegenwoordig en toestemmende in het huwelijk van hare dochter.
Welke comparanten ons hebben aanzocht over te gaan tot het sluiten des Huwelijks tusschen hen beraamd, en waarvan de afkondiging is gedaan geweest op de daartoe bestemde plaats in deze gemeente op den zondag van den achttienden der loopende maand april.
Geene tegenkanting ons wegens dit Huwelijk beteekend zijnde, recht doende aan het gemelde verzoek, na aan de partijen en getuigen te hebben voorgelzen al de stukken ten dezes vereischt, alsmede het zesde hoofdstuk van het burgerlijk wetboek over de wederzijdsche rechten en verplichtingen der echtgenooten, hebben wij gevraagd aan de toekommende bruidegom en aan de toekommende bruid of zij zich willen nemen voor man en vrouw; ieder van hen, in het bijzonder, bevestigend geantwoord hebbende, verklaren wij in den naam van de wet, dat door het Huwelijk vereeningd zijn Adolphus Verschelden en Catharina Van lent.
Onmiddelijk hebben de partijen contractanten ons verklaard dat er tusschen hen geene huwelijksvoorwaarden door notaris zijn ontvangen.
Waarvan wij dezen akt hebben opgesteld in de tegenwoordigheid van Carolus Goossens, gareelmaker, oud zeven en twintig jaren, Carolus Spiessens, brouwersgast, oud acht en twintig jaren, Carolus Ludovicus Rottiers, mandenmaker, oud zes en twintig jaren en Ludovicus Van laer, brouwersgast oud drij en twintig jaren, alle vier kennissen van den bruidegom en van de bruid, woonachtig in deze gemeente.
En hebben de bruidegom, zijne moeder en de bruid met de getuigen dezen akt benevens ons geteekend, de moeder van de bruid heeft verklaard niet te kunnen schrijven bij gebrek van geleerdheid, na gedane voorlezing.
