    Carolus Ludovicus Merckx, daglooner, oud zes en vijftig jaren, woonachtig in deze gemeente, welken ons verklaard heeft dat eergisteren om acht uren des avonds, zijne stiefdochter Sidonia De bruyn, dagloonster, oud zes en twintig jaren, geboren en woonachtig te Bornhem, dochter van Benedictus De bruyn, overleden en van Maria Josepha Polfliet, dagloonster, woonachtig in deze gemeente,in haar stiefvaders woning alhier gelegen is van een kind van het vrouwelijk geslacht, hetwelk hij ons vertoond heeft en waaraan hij verklaard heeft te willen geven de naam en voornamen van De bruyn Josephina Isabella.
    De voormelde vertooning en verklaring gedaan ter tegenwoordigheid van Honorius Boeykens, oud zeven en twintig jaren en Prosper Vercauteren, oud zes en dertig jaren, beide beenhouwers, woonachtig in deze gemeente.
    Waarvan akte, door ons ten Gemeentehuize in dubbel opgemaakt, en na voorlezing geteekend met de getuigen, de komparant heeft verklaard niet te kunnen schrijven bij gebrek van geleerdheid.
