Ja, en dan Oom Ries. Een grote, stille man, gek op zijn vogels. Zo heb ik het ervaren. In de tuin had hij een hele grote folière-zijn lust en zijn leven- waar hij allerlei soorten vogels kweekte.
Soms nam hij mij mee naar buiten, om naar de jonkies te kijken. Gadverdamme, wat vond ik dat eng-al die kale vriemelende beestjes!!!Oom Ries was zeer ingenomen met het communisme. Hij voerde hele politieke debatten met mijn opa (SDAP), waarbij het er fel aan toe ging, maar ruzie kregen ze nooit!!Tante Annie, zijn vrouw, vond ik een schat. Met oom Ries heb ik eigenlijk nooit, zo'n band gehad.Maar hoe dan ook, het was familie voor mij en dus geweldig.
