Opmerkingen: Spanjestrijder en daardoor stateloos. Hij raakte in Spanje gewond. Hij werkte tijdens de bezetting voor De Waarheid, tijdens de Februaristaking deelde hij pamfletten uit en belette trams uit te rijden. Hij werd lid van een mil-groep en werkte samen met Samuel Dormits. Hij was betrokken bij aanslagen in het Laakkwartier in Den Haag en op een spoorbrug in Rotterdam. Hij hielp Joden om uit treinen te ontsnappen. Hij werd eind oktober opgepakt in verband met het oprollen van de Nederlandse Volksmilitie. Hij stond ook op de Amsterdamse lijst van communistische gijzelaars en werd daardoor bij vergissing vanuit Amersfoort naar Vught gestuurd en vervolgens in juli 1943 vrijgelaten. Daarna ging hij voor de Raad van Verzet opnieuw kranten verspreiden en nieuwsbulletins aanplakken.
