Schon als Kind durfte Anna geschäftliche Dinge für die Eltern erledigen. So kassierte sie monatlich die Miete bei den Bewohnern der beiden Mietshäuser in der Lanferbruchstraße ein. Sie studierte in Köln Wirtschaftsgeographie (das Zeugnis trägt die Unterschrift des damaligen Kölner Oberbürgermeisters und späteren Bundeskanzlers Konrad Adenauer) und engagierte sich in der CDU und der katholischen Frauenbewegung für die Belange der Frauen.
Während ihrer Zeit als Handelslehrerin in Rheydt gründete sie die Rheydter Mütterschule, die zum 40jährigen Jubiläum 1996 den Namen "Anna Ladener Haus" bekam.
1962 wurde sie als Seminarleiterin für Berufsschulen nach Gelsenkirchen berufen. Sie war 10 Jahre im Rat der Stadt Gelsenkirchen (Kultur), im Pfarrgemeinderat der Liebfrauenkirche in Beckhausen setzte sie sich für den Bau des Kindergartens Rosenstraße ein (1973). Für ihren unermüdlichen Einsatz in Politik und für Frauen erhielt sie 1976 das Bundesverdienstkreuz.

Voor hun onvermoeibare inspanningen in de politiek en voor vrouwen ontving zij in 1976 de Order van Verdienste.
