Huis Carolinenburg
Over de geschiedenis van het huis is verder weinig bekend. Er woonden ongetwijfeld allerlei aanzienlijke of in ieder geval rijke mensen in het huis. In de jaren 1860-1870 woonde bijvoorbeeld Quirinus Wennekers er. Wennekers was bouwondernemer, later rentenier en een van de bestuursleden van het Koninklijk Zoölogisch-Botanisch Genootschap. Dit genootschap exploiteerde de Haagse Dierentuin aan de andere kant van het Malieveld. Later werd Carolinenburg gesloopt voor de bouw van nieuwe herenhuizen.
