Notes about Simon I van Lotharingen

Simon I van Lotharingen was een zoon van hertog Diederik van Lotharingen uit zijn eerste huwelijk met Hedwig van Formbach.

Hij was hertog van Opper-Lotharingen van 1115-1138, in opvolging van zijn vader.

Simon I was gehuwd met Adelheid, een dochter van Hendrik III van Leuven, en zodoende door het tweede huwelijk van zijn vader Diederik, een (aangetrouwde) halfzuster van Simon. Mogelijk was deze Adelheid evenwel een dochter van Gebhard van Supplinburg, wat eveneens een vorm van familieband vormde vanwege het eerste huwelijk van Simons moeder.
