    Edo zat in het verzet,hij werd gevraagd door de notabelen van het dorp.Hij was een grote sterke man die goed met paarden overweg kon.Jaren later werd hij aan zijn galblaas geopereerd door Proffesor Eerlands.Het bleek dat dokter Eerlands tantes hem onderdak hadden geboden tijdens zijn missies.Hij bracht hun daarvoor witte meel ,olie en gedroogde spek mee.Hij lag geheel gekleed in bed en had de witte lakens laten verwijderen,Als er actie nodig was kon hij direct vertrekken.De familie Eerlands was niet op de hoogte dat de tantes in het verzet zaten. Na de oorlog kregen leden van het verzet een medaille Edo heeft deze geweigerd,volgends hem kwamen daar de gesneuvelden niet mee terug.
