Notes about Johannes (Jan) van der Veur

Jan's Godparents were Johannes (Jan) Thames and his wife Geertrui Seijen.They were also witnesses at his marriage to Johanna de Quake with the Reverend Prof. Wilhelmus Vilingius officiating.


He married second to Gijsberta de Fromantiou,who was born in Rotterdam on 12 Nov 1720 and baptized on Sunday 21 January 1721. She died on 21 March 1807 and was buried in the French Church on 24 March 1807. They had no children. She was the daughter of Johannes (or Nicolaas) de Frommantiou and Maria van der Nap. The witnesses at this second marriage were Gijsberta van Ginkel Johannes Wartelaar and Amelie van der Nap.


 


In 1763 Jan was a Firefighter, Pricinct 12, in Rotterdam. In 1776 he was at Precinct 1, and in 1777 he was a Captain.
