Napoleaanse oorlog anno 1815

Na het verlaten van het slagveld was het ook dit 2e batail-
lon vergund met het eerste legerkorps naar Frankrijk op te
trekken en Parijs te helpen bemagtigen. Reeds den 4 Julij
waren de verbondenen daarvan meester en werden de Neder-
landsche troepen gelegerd in het Bosch van Boulogne en daarna
op Monlmartre en St. Leu Taverny. Vooraf echter hadden
er gevechten plaats, waarin het bataillon dermate deelde,
dat acht personen als gewond of ziek naar Parijs werden
gevoerd, waar ze in het hospitaal overleden.
Het waren: Pieter Jacobs Blom van Wans, Oeble
Jans de Jong van Langeswaag, Hendrik Sjoerds
Janstra van Molkwenim, Klaas Dirks West ra van
Zurig, Wybe Meinderts Smakman van Heeg, Pieb e
Jans Slag Ier van Wams, Yde Herres Hersma van
Rijs en Sybren Strandstra van Arum.
