Claes Jans Mager en Neeltgen Dircx legden in mei 1577 bij een notaris in Leiden een verklaring af over de erfenis van hun overleden oom Jan Jans Mager. Ze waren beiden omtrent 45 jaar oud. Claes Jans Mager verklaarde dat hij 15 jaar lang op de boerderij Bronsgeest van zijn oom Jan Jans Mager had gewerkt.
In 1584 was de weduwe van Claes Jansse Maeger gebruikster van 1 morgen en 58 roeden land in Noordwijk van het klooster in Leiderdorp en ze moest hiervoor 17 stuiver belasting betalen. Ze gebruikte ook nog 1 morgen en 3 roeden land en moest hiervoor6 stuiver betalen en 5 hond en 58 roeden voor 16 stuivers. Voor haar huis en erf in Noordwijk werd ze voor 10 stuiver aangeslagen.
