Op een passagierslijst van 1913 (vertrek 28 juni 1913 - aankomst 7 juli 1913) komt ene Cornelis Philippus van Asselt voor van 23 jaar, carpenter, geboren 1890 in Amsterdam en ongetrouwd.
Hoewel er heel wat personen met de naam Cornelis Philippus van Asselt te vinden zijn, moet het in elk geval één van de zonen van Mattheus van Asselt zijn aangezien hun zuster Bets Zeelenberg-van Asselt staat genoteerd als "the nearest relative in country whence the alien came".
