Adrianus nam direct na de oorlog dienst bij de Prs.Irenebrigade, en werd uitgezonden naar voormalig Nederlands Indie. Aldaar stapte hij over naar de Kon.Marine. Tot aan zijn pensionering (1974) voer hij als stoker/ machinist op de onderzeeboten O??, K?? - Tijgerhaai, Dolfijn, en Walrus. De laatste jaren voor zijn pensioen werkte hij als werkplaatschef op Curacao, later na repatrieering te Rotterdam RDM in dienst van de Kon.Marine. Hij heeft de dienst verlaten als sergeant-Majoor Machinist.
