    Donald was born on March 7, 1976, in Peru, Ind., the son of Donald L. Steenhagen, Jr. and Joanne VanMeter Steenhagen. He served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Altus, Okla. He was a veteran of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
    He was attending Delaware State University and majoring in airway science. He was an aircraft mechanic for the Delaware National Guard.
    He enjoyed role-playing games, computers and building models.
    He is survived by his mother, Joanne VanMeter of Roland; father and step-mother, Donald Jr. and Polly Steenhagen of Dover, Del.; two brothers, Jeremy of Delaware and Jason of Pennsylvania; one sister, Jessica Keidel of Michigan; a nephew, Ethen Keidel; an aunt, Sharon Keidel of Ames; an uncle and aunt, Mike and Kathi Steenhagen of Roland; four cousins, Nick, Gage, Grace and Charlie Steenhagen of Roland; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
    Contributions may be made to the Donald L. Steenhagen III Memorial Scholarship, Delaware State University, 1200 N. Du Pont Highway, Dover, Del. 19901.
