    Onderwerpsomschrijving: Esther Dias da Fonseca is met haar man wijlen Aron de Fonseca en twee kinderen in 1742 wegens tegenspoed genoodzaakt geweest naar St. Eustatius te gaan om daar een beter bestaan op te bouwen. Haar man is daar vrij snel overleden en zij bleef in sobere toestand achter. Ze moest toen haar geringe middeltjes verkopen om haar man te begraven en met haar kinderen terug naar NL te gaan. Op Curaçao heeft ze aan haar kerk om hulp verzocht voor haar kinderen en haarzelf en heeft ƒ100 gekregen voor haar uitrusting en reis. In armoedige omstandigheden is ze in NL gekomen zonder voor haar kinderen hun vaders goed te kunnen bewijzen. Haar schulden zijn opgelopen tot ƒ6400. Getuigen bevestigen dit.
