In 't boek " 't Ford van Abcoude", wordt de familie op pagina 34 en 35 genoemd i.v.m. de boerderij : "Eb en Vloed".
Stukje uit het boek : In het begin van de jaren twintig werd vergunning verleend voor de bouw van een houten huis in de tweede verboden kring van 't Ford van Abcoude.
De Duitsers wilden het in 1944 afbreken omdat zij vanuit het ford geen vrij schootsveld op de spoorbaan hadden.
De bewoner troonde een Duitse militair mee naar binnen, en liet een ingelijste dankbetuiging van de Duitse keizer uit 1870 aan zijn grootvader voor moed betoond in de oorlog tegen Frankrijk, zien.
De Duitser salueerde voor de ingelijste dankbetuiging en verdween. Het dreigement is niet uitgevoerd.
Het houten huis is afgebroken en opnieuw opgebouwd in de negentiger jaren.
Bernard was veehouder.
