Op 28 oktober 1642 verklaarden de Amsterdamse juweliers Hans en Pieter Ramaert, op verzoek van ‘de keurmeester generael van’t goud en zilver over geheel Vrieslandt’ dat zij hem ‘een paer gouden pendanten, cierlijck gemaect ende versiert met Orientaele diamanten, met nog een paar messen met goud geëmailleerde hechten hebben vercocht voor 328 car.gl’

    Daaruit blijkt dat hij 780 carolusguldens aan juwelen schuldig was aan de juwelier Jacob de Bruyne. Agatha, een dochter van De Bruyne, was getrouwd met de juwelier Paulus Ramaert.91 Feye Joostes
    handelde met Pieter Ramaert. Friese edelsmeden blijken goede klanten geweest te
    zijn van Amsterdamse juweliers die verwant aan elkaar waren

    Als voorbeeld kan de weduwe van de diamantsnijder en juwelier Hans Ramaert dienen. Na diens dood in 1643 zette zijn weduwe met Jan Broers en Thomas Broers een compagnie in diamanten op.9
