Dirk, geboren 1704, die zowel Westerboer als Smit werd genoemd. Hij huwde 23-1-1728 als Dirk Jansz Westerboer en had dus de familienaam van de vader van zijn moeder (Dirk Cornelisz Westerboer). In een akte van 10-8-1728 is Dirk Jansz Westerboer kind en erfgenaam van Jan Gerritsz Smit. In een akte van 21-12-1734 wordt op verzoek van crediteuren inventaris opgemaakt van de boedel van Dirk Jansz Westerboer. In een proces van 10-3-1735 stelt Dirk Jans Westerboer zijn gehele bezit ter beschikking van de schepenen. In een akte van 7-5-1734 is hij als Dirk Jansz Smit voogd van Hendrik Jansz Biem (zoon van Gerbrig Jans Smit, zuster van Dirk Jansz Smit, alias Westerboer).
Op 5-3-1734 hertrouwt Dirk Jansz met Grietje Jans en maakt op 17-2-1734 als Dirk Jansz Smit met zijn toekomstige vrouw huwelijkse voorwaarden. Op 31-5-1736 maakt Pieter Cornelisz Lammertsz een testament, waarin wordt genoemd een zoon van zijn "vooroverleden dogter Trijntie Pieters, gewesen vrouw van Dirk Jansz Westerboer". In een akte van 25-6-1741 is ook sprake van Dirk Jansz Westerboer. Op 1-11-1756 geeft "Dirk Jansz Smit, anders genaamd Westerboer" volmacht aan Jan Hendriksz Biem (zijn zwager) in verband met het overlijden van zijn zoon Jan Dirksz (geboren 1729) die de familienaam Smit kreeg; hij ondertekende de volmacht als Dirk Jansz Smit.
Zijn zoons, ook die uit het tweede huwelijk, zijn op jeugdige leeftijd overleden; de naam Westerboer was hiermede op Texel uitgestorven, maar leeft nog voort in een weg, de Westerboersweg.
