Hij is in ondertrouw gegaan op 4 oktober 1899 en getrouwd te
Idaarderadeel op 19 oktober 1899 met Maria Burgij, geboren te Anjum op 5
april 1874, overleden te Leeuwarden op 26 november 1924, dochter van
Durk Burgij en Engeltje Zandstra. Zij hadden vier kinderen.
Dirk die emigreerde naar Canada. Wybren Reinouts, Johan en Jan die allen een
carriere op zee vonden. Daarnaast een dochter Lien die met een KNIL officier
trouwde en helaas in een Jappenkamp in Ned. Indie overleed.
