Willem I van Bourgondië (1020 - Besançon, 1087), bijgenaamd de Grote, was de oudste zoon van graaf Reinoud I van Bourgondië en Adelheid van Normandië (1005-1038).

In 1057 volgde hij zijn vader op als graaf van Bourgondië en werd een machtig vorst. In 1078 verwierf hij ook het graafschap Mâcon toen de graaf, zijn achterneef Guy, een geestelijke werd. Willem werd begraven in de Stephanuskerk teBesançon en herbegraven in de kathedraal van Besançon.

Willem was gehuwd met Stephania van Longwy-Metz. Zij kregen de volgende kinderen:

Reinoud II (-1097 of 1101)
Willem (- voor 1090)
Ermentrudis, die in 1065 huwde met graaf Diederik I, graaf van Montbéliard, van Altkirch en van Ferrette.
