Oom Niek had in Naaldwijk een klokkenwinkel, het gezin woonde boven de winkel. Er waren 12 kinderen, waarvan er twee ook horloge/klokkemaker werden. Bram nam de winkel over. Hij heeft het tot een grote juwelierszaak uitgebreid, bekend in het hele Westland. In 1991 heeft hij de winkel verkocht (er waren te vaak inbraken) en is aan de overkant van de Herenstraat een exquis winkeltje begonnen.
