Notes about Cornelia Geertruida (Cor) Smit

Vanaf 3 januari 1935 woonde zij met haar echtgenoot in Geldermalsen , daarna in Utrecht in de Mauritsstraat 38 en per 2 februari 1939 in d e Ramstraat 10 en m.i.v. 14 juli 1955 in Park Arenberg 47 te De Bilt.
Vanaf 16 april 1956 naar Park Arenberg 91.
Op 19 januari 1970 verhuisde zij als weduwe naar de Platolaan 68 in Ze ist en op 23 maart 1970 naar de Utrechtseweg 299 in Amersfoort, alwaa r zij in 1978 overleed.
Zij heeft een grote verandering gebracht in het leven va n haar echtgenoot en die hem ervoor heeft bewaard een academisch celibatair te worden.

Onder veel belangstelling werd hun huwelijk voltrokken op het Gemeente huis van Geldermalsen en daarna ingezegend in de Ned. Hervormde Kerk door zijn promotor en voorganger Prof. Dr. H. Visscher met de tekst Psa lm 33:22

Vijf jaar later werden zij verblijd met de geboorte van hun zoon Johannes, kortweg Jan genoemd en later Jonne.

Zij was een begaafde vrouw met een veelzijdige belangstelling, met name voor literatuur, talen en muziek.
Zij staat haar echtgenoot met heel veel terzijde en o.a. heel wat correspondentie voor hem waarneemt. Haar gastvrije aard en vlotte conversatie maken het gemakkelijk mensen te ontvangen en met mensen om te gaan .

Zij was voor studenten geen onbekende, doordat zij op de weekends van de Voetianen meestal met haar man meekwam.
Tevens vergezelde zij hem trouw bijna elke keer op zijn preektochten , want welhaast elke zondag ging hij nog voor in de Dienst des Woords , zoals in de Janskerk, de Domkerk en de Jacobikerk.
