    De achtergrond is gevonden bij historischekringcadierenkeer.nl:
    Een voorbeeld van een naam die binnen enkele generaties veel vervormingen heeft ondergaan, is die van de familie Leesens.
    Leden van dit geslacht vertegenwoordigen in de negentiende eeuw Sint Antoniusbank in de gemeenteraad van Cadier en Keer. Zij waren nakomelingen van Petrus Lijsens en Maria Cluijten die in 1752 in Oud-Valkenburg waren getrouwd. Bij zijn huwelijk wordt hij Lijsens genoemd, bij zijn overlijden Lesoir. Van hem, zijn kinderen en kleinkinderen vinden wij in de kerkregisters én in de registers van de Burgerlijke Stand varianten als Lijsens, Leijsens, Lezaet, Lesaet, Leso, Lesoir, Leza, Lisen, Lesen, Lesens, Leezens, Leessens en Leesens. Petrus was volgens de overlijdensakte geboren in Mees. Hoe zijn oorspronkelijke (Waalse?) familienaam geschreven moet worden, kan alleen na verder genealogisch onderzoek beantwoord worden. Wij wagen het niet een verklaring van de (oorspronkelijke) geslachtsnaam te geven.
