    What became of a young widow and her baby boy, with no livelihood in Irish Creek? We learned in a brief snippet from the Westmoreland Recorder, 22nd of October, 1896, that Kate Morton Donahy moved with her son, Lloyd, to make their home in Leavenworth, KS. Kate Donahy appears in the Leavenworth city directory
    up until 1902; but there is no record of her after that. Kate had two sisters living in Leavenworth, Mary (Mrs. John) Purcell, and Eleanor (Mrs. Martin J.) Eggert.
    When Lloyd attended school at St. Mary's College in St. Marys, KS, in 1907-1908, his "mother" was listed as Mrs. M. J. Eggert.
  • She died on May 6, 1904 in Kansas City, Missouri, USA, she was 35 years old.
  • She is buried in Mount Saint Marys Cemetery Kansas City, Missouri, Verenigde Staten.
