  • Facts:
    • (vermelding) Ancestry hint of marriage to Francis Charles Servaes.
I am aware of the fact that there is a hint on Ancestry that seems to indicate a marriage to Francis Charles Servaes, the brother of Alfred James. This marriage did not take place, as can be verified on Free BMD, but there is a story behind it.

Selina was engaged to be married to Francis Charles Servaes and the indication with Ancestry makes it clear that a date was planned. When Alfred James returned home from the Boer War she married him, which caused a degree of bad feelings in the family. It made that Francis Charles left the country for South Africa and later Australia and he never returned.
