In 1728 was Riemer meier te Ypcolsga 90 drie van de vier sates, eigendom van wijlen zijn schoonvader Meinert Jans Heslinga, stemnummers 6, 7, 8 en 9, floreennummer 5.
In 1748 was hij met zijn zwagers Claes Doyes en Wybe Olphers, nominumuxores en schoonzus Elbrich Meynerts voor 1/4 part erfgenaam/eigenaar van de vier sates, groot 270 pondemaat.
In 1749 was hij een welgestelde boer te Oudega.
Riemer zal gewoond hebben in het huis dat bij stemnummer 6 behoorde met 80 pondemaat land, van welk huis en landen hij in 1758 al 3/4 part bezat met nog eens 60 pondemaat land, waarschijnlijk onder stemnummer 7,waarvan hij de resterende 1/4 part sate en landen en quoteel huis, hof,watemolen cum annex te Idzega, 'de Grote Bratte' genaamd, met 140 pondemaat land. In de floreenschatting belast met 29 floreen, onderhoudvan dijken, dammen etc. als bij koper en mede-eigenaar in gebruik. Naastligger is o.a. Hoyte Fongers te Oosten (ook mede-erfgenaam namenszijn vrouw Meinske Meinerts en in 1758 eigenaar van de resterende 130 pondemaat land en huis onder stemnummer 9). De verkopers waren: Johannes Clases, schuitvaarder te Franeker, Meindert Clases, vrijgezel te Exmorra en Anna Clases, getrouwd met Sjoerd Harmens, kinderen van wijlen Claes Doyes en Rinske Meinerts, en het werd gekocht voor 451 carolusgulden en 14 stuivers (WYM 57-127v 17-03-1765).
In 1768, 1778 en 1788 was hij meier en geheel eigenaar van stemnummer 6 te Idzega. Tevens in 1758, 1768 en 1778 eigenaar van stemnummer 21 te Heeg, de sate van wijlen zijn vader Ruurd Tietes met 70 pondemaat land,waarvan zijn zoon Epke Riemers de meier was.
In 1788 werd ca. 11 pondemaaat land te Heeg gekocht voor 45 carolusguldengekocht van Sicke Tjebbes te Sangaast (WYM 65). Riemer Ruurds was medecurator over de kinderen van Gerke Sjoukes en Jitske Sjoerds te Idsega (WYM 36 1780). Hij was toen 'al over de 80 jaar' en werd vervangen door zijn oudste zoon Ruurd Riemers.

Op 10-06-1755 werden Riemer Ruurds, huisman te Idzega, en Durk Pieters, huisman te Ferwoude, aangesteld als curatoren over de nagelaten kinderen van Claes Doyes en Rinske Meinerts, volgens haar testament (WYM 36,12).Zij verkochten de 1/4 partgeërfdelanden van 140 pondemaat aan Akke Meinerts c.u. en de 1/4 part van 130 pondemaat aan Meinske Meinerts c.u.(WYM 57-127v).
